Timneh African Greys can mimic sounds as well as words. Their voice sounds a bit smaller than a Congo Grey. Although they can mimic the words they do not mimic the sound of the voice as exactly as does the Congo Grey. They sound more like a child speaking in a little voice. Even though they are slightly smaller than Congo Greys they require a cage as large as a Congo because they are so active. They are inquisitive and enjoy toys and will often hang upside down from the top of their cage and swing back and forth. If you are considering an African Grey I would suggest visiting both the Congo and Timneh before making a final decision.
